Contractor accommodation in Kent: what a good stay actually looks like

If you run a site team, you already know the problem. The job is in Kent for six weeks, the crew needs somewhere to sleep, and the options are a budget hotel twenty minutes away or a scramble on Airbnb with five different hosts.

We have housed contractors across Medway, Maidstone, Gravesend and Dartford for years. This is what we have learned about what makes a stay work for people who are up at 6am and on their feet all day.

One house, one key, one invoice

A crew that lives together works better together. A whole house or a large apartment means everyone is under one roof, lifts can be shared, and the site manager knows where everyone is.

It also makes the paperwork simple. One booking, one invoice, one point of contact. When you book direct with us, you deal with the people who actually run the property, not a call centre.

Parking is not a nice-to-have

Vans and tool kits need somewhere safe to sit overnight. Before you book anything, check exactly what the parking is: on-street, permit, paid, or private.

Our Gravesend townhouse has free private gated parking, which is rare that close to a town centre. For other homes we will tell you honestly what the parking situation is before you commit.

Beds, not sofa beds

For a short city break, a sofa bed is fine. For a month of physical work it is not. Count real beds, and check how many are singles versus doubles. Colleagues rarely want to share.

Every listing on our site shows the bedroom count and how many people it sleeps. If you need a specific layout, message us and we will tell you exactly what is in each room.

A kitchen that is actually equipped

Eating out every night adds up fast and gets old quicker. A proper kitchen with a hob, oven, fridge freezer, kettle, toaster and enough pans to cook for the whole team saves money and keeps people happy. A washing machine matters more than most people expect, too.

Fast Wi-Fi and somewhere to work

Site managers still have reports, drawings and timesheets to deal with in the evening. Reliable Wi-Fi and a table you can work at are standard in our homes.

Self check-in for odd hours

Crews arrive late and leave early. Self check-in with a lockbox or smart lock means nobody is waiting around for a key handover after a long drive.

Flexible on length

Jobs overrun. Look for a host who is relaxed about extending, and who offers sensible rates for longer stays. We welcome stays of a few nights up to several months, and we will always try to extend you in the same property if dates allow.

Why book direct

When you book through our own site you avoid the platform service fees, you get our direct-booking discount, and you can pay 50% now with the balance two weeks before arrival. For larger or longer bookings, send us an enquiry and we will put together a quote for the whole team.

Need somewhere for your crew? Tell us the town, dates and headcount using the enquiry form and we will come back to you quickly with options.
